Reading Response

I have discovered many things about The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I have found that I am enjoying the book, though I did not think I would at first. I have also found how relatable the book is since it is written in the perspective of a teenage boy. Deep down everybody wants to fit in and be accepted. Though, sometimes we feel that we are not good enough.

The differences that the author provides between people who live on the reservation and people who live in Reardan astound me.  I never realized how different the opportunities are for those other than people in my community. I also never realized that a great deal of people did not have the option to attend college. The author's writing makes me empathize Junior. I truly hope that as I continue to read this book I find that Junior reaches his full potential and becomes successful.

Time spent on book: 40 minutes
Time spent on paper: 60 minutes
